November 2024
David Mielnicki, ARA, MAI, SRA
As we near the end of ASACs 61st year and wrap-up a very successful annual conference in Fort Myers, Florida, we are already looking into what 2025 will bring! ASAC has a very strong foundation of membership that spans not only across the country, but abroad, and spans into almost every corner of the agricultural industry. Add to that, solid leadership, and we seek to expand upon both over the next 12 months.
I’m excited to continue to build upon what ASAC has accomplished and look to cross-reference existing membership, leadership, and past presentations (primarily from ASAC annual conferences), with increased web presence, podcasts, and exposure, to bring you up-to-date news, information, and market trends.
Your participation, needs, and wants are very important to ASAC leadership. This year, I pose this question to each member: “Am I doing my part?” With the collective input/energy/attendance, member experience will drastically increase. As we have always worked to capitalize on opportunities brought on by our existing membership, we will also work to capitalize on opportunities outside of our membership.
If you are currently an ASAC member, I encourage you to get the full value for your membership.
Attend an annual conference. Our Meeting Committee Chair Abigail Byerly is planning for a great conference November 2-4, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Go ahead and mark your calendars.
Keep your eye out for newly improved social media presence from ASAC.
Participate in the educational webinars and ‘Shop Talk’ roundtable discussions that our Continuing Education Committee hosts throughout the year. Those roundtable discussions are strongest when we have a good representation of the diverse backgrounds and ideas that our members represent.
Get certified as a Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC). It’s part of the ASAC brand and it’s a way to show that you are an Agricultural Consultant who is committed to the delivery of high-quality consulting services with a focus on the best interests of your client.
Get involved in a committee. I don’t ask that you commit to more than one, but I do ask that you commit to at least one. A heavy load is lighter with many hands.
Your Executive Committee:
David Mielnicki – President
Abigail Majerus – President-Elect
Russell Morgan – Chief Financial Officer
Keith Dickinson – Past President
