Additional Presenters & Topics Added to the Program for the ASAC Annual Conference

We can’t wait to see you at ASAC Annual Conference in Fresno in just a few weeks!
Economic forces shaping ag, international consulting opportunities, new legal issues confronting ag, and working through business planning are the topics that have recently been added to the agenda.
The early registration discount ends October 15.
The hotel room block rate ends October 21.
Kicking off the program will be Fresno County Ag Commissioner Melissa Cregan who is scheduled to welcome the group for this 60th anniversary meeting of the Society in the city where it all began.
In addition to speakers already announced, those attending will hear from Gary Hirsch, an economic development professional from New Jersey, who will discuss international consulting opportunities. He will also offer his observations on the geopolitical aspects of international work.
ASAC Member Don Tyler, ASAC Northern Region Director, will address How to Ask the Next Question. He focuses his practice, Tyler and Associates, on helping families and companies navigate the challenges of strategic business planning and human resource management, meeting immediate needs of the farm business as well as for long-term viability and success.
Rusty Rumley, from the National Agricultural Law Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, returns for an encore presentation with his unique perspectives on a variety of policy topics always on the front burner of American agriculture.
David Magaña, Senior Analyst, Horticulture, from Rabo Research Food & Agribusiness in Fresno, will open the November 7 sessions, discussing Economic Forces Shaping the Future of Agribusiness. David is responsible for covering and analyzing the U.S. and North American fresh fruit and vegetable industries. Prior to joining Rabobank, he served as deputy director of economic research for FIRA – Banco de México, one of the most important agricultural banks in Latin America.

As previously announced, Ryan Jacobsen, Fresno Farm Bureau, will be the featured presenter at the ASAC Banquet on Monday evening, providing an overview of the state of the ag industry in Fresno County. Monday afternoon, Dick Wittman, Wittman Consulting, will share his Insights and Take-homes from Four Decades of Consulting, and the latest in autonomous ag technology will be addressed Monday morning by Alon Ascher, chief business officer for BlueWhite robotics.
Also on Monday, water issues will be well covered by a panel discussion, Water Rights and Regulations, featuring Don Wright of WaterWrights.net, Mike Ming with Alliance Ag Services, and Elizabeth Jonasson from the Westlands Water District.
Preceding the Tuesday agricultural tours, Paige Gilligan, Risk Mitigators, will offer the organization’s required course on Ethics in Ag Consulting, for those who are acquiring or maintaining their Certified Ag Consultant (CAC) designations.
